The Scanlon/Brandenberger Wedding Countdown!

I am sooooo EXCITED to be the first bride to post on Leapfrog’s blog! Our wedding is quickly approaching with the rehearsal tomorrow night and the big day this Saturday May 16th, and surprisingly, I am pretty much at ease. We are getting married at Old St. Joseph’s Church with a reception to follow at The Society Hill Sheraton. I can only attribute my relaxed attitude to my AMAZING vendors who include: Our fabulous wedding planner Mark Kingsdorf from Queen of Hearts, Donna O’Brien of Beautiful Blooms, Dan Peterson from the Society Hill Sheraton, Tangerine Video and our course our FABULOUS photographer Geoff from Leapfrog Photography!!!!

One of the things that helped make us so comfortable with Geoff was doing an engagement shoot with him this September. We both TOTALLY Recommend this. Now to be fair, Todd and I had very different things that made us comfortable. I wanted to make sure we got those perfect shots, with beautiful backgrounds, and knew that Geoff was the kind of guy that would capture all the details of the big day (which I have been working on putting together for what seems to be forever). Todd on the other hand wanted to get through the photo shoot as painless as possible and only wanted to know that he and his guys wouldn’t feel poked and prodded by someone they couldn’t relate to all day (which apparently was common in his experiences being a groomsman).

As you can see by all of the images Geoff did for us down in Ocean City at our engagement shoot…..MY EXCITEMENT and FAITH in him has only grown and I cant wait to see what he comes up with from the big day. As far Todd’s expectations go….. he hit it off with Geoff right away and they bonded over Phillies Baseball. What sealed the deal for Todd was when Geoff told Todd he could take a break to listen to the end of the game (Which by the way resulted in a WIN!). The rest of our session went perfectly……although being that it was a HUGE GAME Geoff and I still joke that we don’t want to think about how things might have turned out if the Phillies had lost. Good thing we’ll never know!

The New Deal

If you are reading this then you are a devoted Leapfrog Fan and have probably been disappointed at the lack of updates on the Blog. If didn't get hung up on being so busy you would know I have been up to A LOT over the last several months. Professionally and personally, things have been pretty good.

As I started to gear up for the early wedding season grind, I reached out to Megan Scanlon, a Bride of mine getting married this weekend (5/16). Hoping to connect about basic details and plan a time to meet, we had a great chat. One of her first comments was something like this, "hey man, what's up with your Blog. I check it pretty regularly and you never update anything." We both laughed and then I thanked her. She knows my work well and has seen many great installments since she hired me back in July of '08. And she was really disappointed I wasn't sharing more. So was I. I Said to her, "hey, maybe I should have you write something just to get the momentum going."

It got me thinking; it would actually be really fun to have Brides do some Blogging. Sharing about the wedding world from their unique perspective. Let's face it, it's all about the Bride, and, as an insider I can tell you that has peaks and valley's (mostly peaks with a glittery little rock).

Here are a few pictures of Megan and her Fiancee' Todd. Look for the next post (in a few minutes) with some words from Megan. And, if you are reading this and you are one of my Brides, reach out so we can get you set up to do a guest entry.

Best,
G
