Thank You Sheryl..........

It's been a while since my last post and there is much to share. The year is winding down and, while there is still a lot of editing to do, it was a great year filled with amazing people, places and things.

To name a few, Leapfrog Photography was voted "A Top 5 Pick" by Fox News Philadelphia, my work was published in ASMP's year end Bulletin and I had the good fortune of shooting Ray and Christa Toro's wedding (he being the lead guitarist for My Chemical Romance). We shot 35 weddings and 20 other events in 6 States this year, a record for sure. Kristin Fleck started working in the Studio this year and she is starting to really kick some _ _ _ in the world of Production (thank you Kristin). Jodi Weisberg, who has been working for me for 5 years now, keeps pushing the envelope and had breakthroughs in every facet of the business. Her partnership is beyond measure.

We had a blast shooting in the rain with Gianna and Chris. Tried to shoot in urban summer heat with Jessica and Jeremy; that lasted 3 minutes and a plan B was worked out (you can't let all of that hair and make up melt). Boston with the Marshall's. Washington, DC with the Pepper's. Jersey Shore, New York City and Los Angeles.

There really is SO much to share. I get busy shooting, editing, being a dad (that is top of the list) and blogging falls by the wayside, but, I am happy to report that I am working with someone to upgrade the blog so it's a bit easier to update. And, my title reference on this post, "thank you Sheryl" is a thank you to Sheryl Williams of DVideography. She busted me for not keeping you all more informed and sharing all the great work that we do. There are some really amazing images from this season and I'll start posting some of them.

If you are one of my brides and want to see something in particular, feel free to drop me a line and I'll post it.

Brown and White

The 1st time I spoke with Lindsay Brown I knew she was something special, and we connected right away. It was too funny that she was marrying Michael White. A mix of tradition, edge, and get down boogie is how one might describe this day.

Lindsay and her Bridesmaids got ready at her folks house. The ceremony was at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church and Reception at Overbrook Country Club. Ilonka did the flowers. Dave Williams of DVideography shot the video. Check out the link below for a glimpse of an amazing day.

Lara and Paul

There was something pure, simple and elegant about this day.  It was very elegant.......getting ready at The Sofitel, ceremony at The Episcopal Cathedral near Penn's Campus and reception at Top Of The Tower.  Still, it was the people and not the things that made the day.............

Outer Space Is Not All It's Cracked Up To Be.......

It's been a while and I know many people have been by to see new work and get general updates.  In late May I posted just before going to shoot Lara and Paul's wedding.  It was a stunning event and one could not help but be moved to tears by the presence of their love.  While that is a compelling story, I do want to add that I got back sometime ago and have only been busy shooting, otherwise you would have seen an update sooner.

Contrary to rumor, I have not been beamed up or anything : )

I'm shooting 40+ wedding this year and have an array of other gigs mixed in.  I'm on the verge of a flurry of posting as Production has been churning along.  I want to invite you, whether your an existing client, just stopping by, shopping for a wedding photographer; even my mom is welcome, all of you, please drop me line.

Look later today for Lara and Paul........it was an amazing day.

Blogosphere

I know the blog has been in dire need of attention.  It should come as no surprise to my current Brides and Grooms that things have just been busy as Wedding Season kicks into high gear.  The thing that I have gotten so much pleasure out of lately, beyond shooting that is, is the slideshows.

I have done a bunch lately and will post them shortly.  Right now I am off to shoot Lara and Paul's wedding.  It promises to be a stunning day.  They are getting ready at The Sofitel.  The ceremony is at the absolutely stunning Episcopal Cathedral at 38th and Chestnut.  The reception is at Top of the Tower where we expect to get amazing skyline and sunset shots.

Look back over the next few days to see some shots from Lara and Paul's big day as well as those I covered in the last few weeks.

Spring is in the air

With 2007 fading in the rear view mirror the 2008 shooting schedule is on the verge of exploding.  I always like to take it slow between January and March to catch up on production, get album orders moving and clean house.  The house is clean I am excited for Wedding Season to kick in.
In the off season I went to Atlanta fro a workshop with shooting legend Dennis Reggie (arguably the father of modern wedding photojournalism).  It was amazing!   And, I was ecstatic to hear from him that he liked my sense of style and presentation.  While an acknowledgement like that doesn't mean I can stop developing my craft, it certainly was nice to hear.
Hear are some images from a recent day spent at Suky's    http://leapfrogphoto.com/Suky

Chrissy and Raman.............pure bliss

Here is a glimpse of wonder.  It's not everyday you get to go from an Evangelist Catholic Church to an urban Hindu Ceremony.  On this day we did and it was stunning.  The bulk of the evening was spent at Philadelphia's Cescaphe Ballroom and as one might expect, every detail was impeccable.  Chrissy and Raman were joined at the hip the entire evening and absolutely beamed all night long.  See the link below   http://www.leapfrogphoto.com/Battish
